Sydney Advertising at Hammersmith Station (09/2010)
I was just going through my iPhone pictures looking for a colorful image to test the background adjustment of my blog. So I found this one which I took at Hammersmith station in September 2010 – advertising for Sydney. It reminded me of “Priscilla – Queen of the Desert” – one of my favourite musicals here in London.
However, the color adjustment from the monotone theme seems to be working. But I was wondering how the colors are generated and from where. So I looked into the php code but I lacked the patience to find the bit where the color is picked. Actually it would be great to define one color in the post that would be used as the base color. The red is a bit too intense I think in this “pink” context.
Furthermore I was unhappy with the speed of my blog. I thought it is actually because of the mysql database from my hosting provider. So I started to google and found this blog entry that explained quite well that it wasn’t about the database but something else on the end of my hosting provider. Further on I found on the same blog this entry that my hosting provider had changed something that speeds up the rendering of the sites. I went to my providers site and did the necessary changes and tadaaah… my blog is faster now. Not just a little, it’s so much better. Shame my provider wasn’t a bit “louder” about their improvements.
it’s true – the base colour could be a bit less intense. I didn’t know that the colour is picked up somewhere… but I don’t know nothing about that kind of stuff
yeah the color scheme is picked from the picture. but i don’t know where.
